DCI Auditions and WGI Auditions

The Drum Corps International website has an audition resource page. Look for the Audition Dates tab to see a list of corps and their location. Click the corps name to see the audition dates and a link to the corps website.

Winter Guard International’s website has an audition page, but you need to click on each tab to see all the classes - PIW, PIO, PIA. There’s also a drop-down option to filter by state if you don’t want to search through all the results.

Follow the list below to prep for your audition. In-between each of these steps, practice. Always use a metronome when you practice.

  1. Get audition info from the group’s website including an audition contact email address
  2. Register for an audition (if you’re asked to)
  3. Download or request or buy the audition packet
  4. Put the audition music in a 3-ring binder using plastic “presentation” sleeves
  5. At this point, email your contact and ask any questions you have
  6. Buy any sticks, mallets, or other equipment you need for camp
  7. Start to focus your practice time on the stuff that’s most difficult
  8. Pack your things for the audition (make sure your name is on everything)
  9. Ask and get answers to any remaining questions before you leave
